The Bird Is the Word

Delays, delays, delays, but as promised there are some good interviews and Ben Casey leftovers coming in the next week or so. In the meantime, if you haven’t, check out one of the reasons for those delays: my take on Breaking Bad for The A.V. Club, which ran last week. William Daniels (seen here on Quincy, M.E.) looks like he just read it.

Very brave article on “Breaking Bad”.
Almost as brave as saying you liked the last season of “77 Sunset Strip” produced by Jack Webb and William Conrad.
Or that Glenn Corbett was a better actor than George Maharis.
Keep up the good fight. You’re one of a kind.

And that the seventh season of Rawhide is the best.
Oh, dear — you’re undercutting my claim that I’m not a contrarian!

Well written article. I’ve never watched the program, but I love contrarians who refuse to fall in line.

I once wrote a pretty negative review of the first season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. My reasons were that (1) every episode was very predictable, since you knew it would end with the most embarrassing possible thing happening to Larry, and (2) Larry David was a terrible actor. A lot of people were surprised by it, but nobody could really say I was wrong about that stuff.
